Jenny Lind Milk Glass Pin Dish - Fostoria Lidded Oval Opera Singer Dresser Box

Ask a question

Fostoria made their beloved Jenny Lind milk glass pattern between 1955-65. This pressed glass pin dish is just the right size for rings, bracelets, paper clips, etc. Raised florals surround the singer's famous profile.

Jenny Lind was a Swedish opera singer, often called the 'Swedish Nightingale'. She was a popular singer in her own right in Sweden and Europe, but was invited in 1850 by showman P. T. Barnum to give a series of almost 100 concerts in the U.S., earning her famous title (along with a lot of money!) Her acclaim led to many beautiful objects with her image, and a resurgence of popularity in the mid-1950s led to the introduction of this pattern.
